Scholarships

AAUW has a long history of advancing education and professional opportunities for women in the U.S. and around the globe. The AAUW Tomah Branch provides local scholarships for higher education with the purpose of improving the lives of women and girls.

NCCWSL Scholarship Opportunity

For years AAUW has been offering leadership opportunities to women. Now there is an exciting opportunity for leadership skills designed for women still in the process of receiving their education.

The National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL) Conference sponsored by AAUW national usually takes place at the University of Maryland, College Park. However, due to COVID, the conference will be held virtually May 25 & 26, 2021. The conference provides leadership training that has received rave reviews.

AAUW-WI is offering twelve $125 scholarships to Wisconsin college student leaders to attend the NCCWSL (Pronounced “Nick-Whistle”). The $125 scholarship will cover the registration fees. Contact the AAUW Tomah Branch to apply by March 1, 2021: AAUWTomah@gmail.com.

To learn more about the conference, go to aauw.org and search NCCWSL, or NCCWSL.org.

Eligible nominees must be currently enrolled in a program leading to an Associate degree (or equivalent), Bachelor’s degree, or Master’s degree at a technical college or other two or four year public or private college. Candidates must be nominated by an AAUW Branch with a limit of one nominee per branch.

Through our fundraising events, the AAUW Tomah Branch has been able to award scholarships throughout the years to students at Western Technical College. Funds have been raised through Mary Kay Fundraisers (thanks to Anna Mae Rodolph) and Peking Chinese Restaurant.
